Jobs: On-Call Domestic Violence Shelter Workers

Responsible for providing guidance and counseling to women and their children at the Asian Women’s Home, an emergency shelter for battered women. Duties include answering the 24 hr. crisis hotline, admitting and discharging shelter residents, managing resident case work, guiding victims of domestic violence through the legal system, assisting with translation, providing general emotional and peer support, promoting residents’ understanding and compliance of house rules.

Requirements: 40-hour domestic violence training (agency will provide); commitment to issues concerning domestic violence, the Asian Community, women and children; ability to work with women and women in crisis situations.
